Original Report

A Taliban commander was killed and five other suspects ‎were captured alive in an overnight operation in the Waghaz district of southern ‎Ghazni province. ‎

The provincial police chief, in a chat with Pajhwok Afghan News, identified the slain ‎commander as Mullah Manan, a resident of the insurgency-plagued Qarabagh district.

Brig. Gen. Khyalbaz Sherzai said another rebel commander Mullah Khaliq, a resident ‎of Waghaz district, was among those arrested. AK-47 assault rifles and five hand-‎grenades were seized during the operation. ‎
