Two children were among four people wounded as Taliban insurgents clashed with Afghan and French soldiers in central Kapisa province on Saturday.
The Taliban claimed killing six French soldiers during the hour-long firefight in the Tabankhel village of the Alasai district. But the district's administrative head Mullah Muhammad spurned the claim as baseless.
Qari Syed, introducing himself as regional Taliban commander, told Pajhwok Afghan News over the telephone two children were also wounded in firing from the joint force.
