Provincial Council building inaugurated

A new building for the Herat Provincial Council has been constructed at the cost of 120,000 provided by the Italian Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT), an official said on Saturday.

Governor's spokesman Naqibullah Erwin told Pajhwok Afghan News the three-storey building had a meeting hall and several offices. The building was erected on 200 square metres of land over last seven months.

Commander of International Security Assistance Forces (ISAF) in western zone Gen. Alessandro Veltri said the construction of the building was part of their promises to improve provincial council's activities.
