Original Report

A district chief was injured in a landmine explosion in the ‎volatile southeastern province of Khost, bordering Pakistan's tribal region of Kurram, ‎Saturday morning. ‎

General Muhammad Nawab, a senior military officer in the province, told Pajhwok ‎Afghan News the roadside blast happened in Bak district. District chief Lutfullah ‎Babakarkhel was injured in the explosion. ‎

The district chief was on the way from home to his office. Nawab said Babakarkhel ‎suffered minor injuries while his vehicle was damaged. He was rushed to hospital for ‎treatment. No one has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
